Overview of the Protective Factors

The Strengthening Families Protective Factors Framework™ is an evidence-informed tool for strengthening families and reducing the likelihood of child abuse and neglect. The framework helps professionals work with children and families to promote the optimal development of all children while protecting vulnerable children from maltreatment.

This informative webinar is the first training in CalTrin’s monthly Protective Factor series. This month, we will begin with a high-level overview of the Five Protective Factors designed for child- and family- serving professionals. During this session, your facilitator will discuss each Protective Factor and provide strategies for practical application. This session is presented in an engaging lecture format.

In this engaging lecture-format webinar, we will:

  1. Review the five Protective Factors that help keep families strong and prevent child abuse and neglect
  2. Identify key strategies and concrete everyday actions that help families build Protective Factors
  3. Explore what it means to work with families in a strength-based way
  4. Share Protective Factors resources for providers and families

This training is designed for anyone who works with children and families and focuses on concrete ways your work can support the building of Protective Factors. Each month, Learners can register for individual trainings that meet their learning needs and their schedule.
